Jenny and I both spent the day at the temple

This week I had the wonderful opportunity to serve at the Draper Temple Open House. I arrived for my first "shift" at 7:00 am and spent the next eight hours in the most beautiful and peaceful place. If you get the chance to attend the open house, you should take it. The Draper Temple is exquisite. While I was serving, I learned a few things.

I learned that teaching your children is a precious responsibility. It was so touching to see parents lead their young children through the temple and point to the pictures of Jesus and teach their children who was in the picture. They walked hand in hand through the temple that made it possible for them to be together forever.

I also was reminded of the sweet spirit of the temple. Even though I had millions of things waiting to be done once I left the temple, the length of my to-do list or any of the other pressures I was feeling weren't important when I was inside the temple. It's impossible to feel stressed in the temple. It is impossible to feel anything but peace. That was a wonderful realization for me.

I made myself a promise that I would return to the temple after it was dedicated. I wish I could spend every day there. I can't wait for next month when I get to serve as an usher again!

Looking for Bargains

In four short months, I will be donning a mortarboard and taking the next big step in my life: graduation! Soon I won't be able to call myself a University of Utah student, and I want to live it up while I still have some time left. So... I am on a search for student discounts. October Adventures

October's exciting event was going on vacation with my family to California! I had never been to Disneyland with them before, and we had a magical time. We also visited Angels' Stadium (they are our team), downtown LA, and Hollywood. It was a fabulous vacation!
